Returns

We make every attempt to test all of our computers and consoles and sell them as fully working unless stated otherwise. With that in mind, please remember that some systems are well over 25 years old and a lengthy guarantee is not possible. We guarantee against DOA (dead on arrival) but cannot guarantee a system for any specific length of time.

Due to its nature, all software on cassette or magnetic tape cartridge (such as Microdrives and Wafas) is sold as a collectors item, data integrity cannot be guaranteed and once purchased cannot be returned for refund.

Cartridge (PCB), CD-ROM and DVD-ROM software along with all hardware will be tested when possible and will be deemed as working unless otherwise stated in the listing.

We have noticed over the years that two main problems tend to arise with vintage hardware and software:

1. Vintage consoles and computers can be difficult to tune on modern LCD/LED/Plasma televisions and we cannot refund or exchange products for this problem. Please make sure that your television is compatible with an old games console (pre-SCART) before you purchase.
2. Contacts on the cartridge or console itself are prone to oxidisation, usually due to being unused for a length of time. Cleaning of the contacts on the cartridge itself and/or console may be necessary before a game will work.

If you do have problems, please contact us within 7 days of purchase and we will do our utmost to find a solution. However, although we may exchange units, or offer refunds in certain circumstances upon their return, we cannot refund return postage, which is at the buyers expense.

Refunds for goods will be given only when the authorised returns have been received and tested.

Delivery Times

We endeavour to send out items within 2 days of receiving an order but most are sent same day or next day. Any orders made on Friday or over a weekend will be dispatched as soon as possible on Monday. Just occasionally we have a holiday and on these rare occasions we will give plenty of notice via our homepage of any delays that may occur in the processing and dispatch of orders.

Packaging

We use Jiffy style mailers and bubble wrap for non-crushable items such as loose cartridges and other software items, but for boxed items such as boxed cartridges (we all know how flimsy these can be!) we will pack your items safely in bubble wrap and sturdy mailing boxes.

We will send our boxed consoles in bubble wrap within larger boxes (recycled packaging when possible) to protect the integrity of your newly purchased collectibles in transit.

Availability

All products listed on our website are subject to availability. It is uncommon for us to be unable to fulfil an order but from time to time we may make a mistake with stock numbers or misplace an item in our inventory. In the event of this happening you will be informed immediately and a full refund will be made.

Please note that sometime a generic image is used within a listing and the product may not exactly match the image. Please refer to the description for full details of the product you are purchasing.

Postage Costs and Delivery

Prices within our website are exclusive of postal charges which are added to the price of the products during checkout. Postage prices are based on the weight of your purchases and not a fixed price per item therefore ensuring that multiple purchases are more cost effective for you. You will be shown the total postage cost before the end of the checkout process.

Most of our UK parcels are sent via Royal Mail first class, with certain items being sent via Recorded Delivery. Recorded Delivery will require a signature upon receipt and can be tracked via the Royal Mail online service.

Please note that we currently only ship to the UK and the EU. If you are not sure if your country is included please contact us before ordering.

Secure payments with Paypal

We primarily use Paypal for payment of goods purchased from our site. Paypal uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Technology which enables you to make safe and secure purchases. Once and order is placed you will be transferred directly to Paypal's own server and you will see a small padlock icon appear at the bottom of your browser window. This is showing that you are on a secure page. Once payment is made you will be transferred back to Retrogear UK.

Cheques or Postal Orders

We do accept Cheques or Postal Orders (drawn on UK banks), although allow 7 days for a Cheque payment to clear before we dispatch your item(s). Simply add items to the cart as normal and select to pay with a Cheque or Postal Order. Print out the form that is displayed and send along with payment to the address on the form.
